Cutting Edge Success
Oxford EngineeringThe extraordinary success of Oxford Engineering’s achievements with the assistance of the DTI’s Manufacturing Advisory Service won plaudits from the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when she visited the company.
Patricia Hewitt MP launched the first report on the work that MAS has been doing. Oxford Engineering was chosen as the venue due to its record improvements in productivity of £577k per year, accomplished through the support of MAS.
50 delegates from government and industry listened intently as Patricia Hewitt MP told them of Oxford Engineering’s savings of 75% in process travelling distances, 35% in set up times, 29% in lead times and 11% in space utilised. These claims were reinforced as Patricia Hewitt MP and the delegates received a tour of the manufacturing plant by Alec Watts, Company Founder of Oxford Engineering.
