Projects are managed, starting with design advice through to manufacturing, taking responsibility for assembly and co-ordinating the complete supply chain, giving customers the benefit of a cutting edge facility without the frustrations of overheads or running workshops.
Multiple Market Experience
We provide multiple market experience and supply the world leaders in the Medical, Energy (Oil and Gas & Power Generation), Semi conductor and Aerospace arenas . Our relentless adaption to the needs of current and new sectors allow us to match the high and ongoing expectations of our customers.
Involvement Policy
We involve our customer in any matter relevant to achieving his goals and expectations. From the In-depth Upfront Review through the whole production process until the delivery. In the unlikely event of issues jeopardising the Delivery in Full, on Time and Quality we inform the customer of the relevant issues in the first two hours after the discovery of the issue (see Quick Response Meeting).
Open Book Policies
Open book policy is to clearly and openly provide customers with pricing breakdowns. Confirming material and non recurring elements costs allows both parties to focus on the true manufacturing cost. This openess with our clients from costing through to manufacturing methods embeds our relationship and sustains a strong, long term and mutually beneficial partnership.
Single Piece Flow
Single piece flow can be described as an ideal state of efficient operations, where batch sizes and lot production are replaced by working on one product at a time. While not practical for operations with very low processing times (usually found in low technology markets) and correspondingly high change-over times (both values defined by takt time), it is a important Lean Manufacturing goal to achieve single piece flow in every operation possible (in high technology markets).
Achieving one-piece flow requires the elimination of waste. The wastes can be of seven types:
- Labour
- Overproduction
- Space
- Defects
- Unnecessary human motion
- Inventory
- Transportation
As a company reduces these wastes and strives for single piece flow, many other benefits follow. Some of these benefits include (1) an improved quality and fewer defects (2) a reduced inventory (3) less space required, (4) the enhancement of overall manufacturing flexibility, (5) the identification and simplication of future improvements, (6) a safer work environment, (7) the improvement of employee morale.

This allows the production of low cost machined items and assemblies in the low to medium volume sector – primarily for the UK market.
Global Supply Chain Management
With increased globalisation and offshore sourcing, global supply chain management is becoming an important issue for many businesses. Like traditional, supply chain management, the underlying factors behind the trend are reducing the costs of procurement and decreasing the risks related to purchasing activities.
Oxford Engineering deals currently with suppliers from many countries including Switzerland, Austria, USA, Denmark and Mexico and of course the UK and Estonia. Our constant focus is to ensure that our suppliers constantly meet themselves the KPI "Delivery in Full, on Time, Quality and Cost " enabling us therefore to meet our customer's deadlines.
